The 151st running of the Preakness Stakes, the second jewel of thoroughbred racing's Triple Crown, will temporarily shift its iconic location in 2026. Due to renovations underway at its historic home, Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, the prestigious race will be held at Laurel Park Racetrack in Laurel, Maryland. This temporary relocation will allow for the modernization of Pimlico, ensuring the Preakness has a state-of-the-art facility for its anticipated return in 2027. Even with the temporary change of venue, the Preakness Stakes, or the "Run for the Black-Eyed Susans," will still bring together the nation's top three-year-olds for a crucial test of speed and stamina.
